About 1 in 3 people with COVID-19 do not have symptoms but can still infect others. As you will be travelling in close proximity to other passengers, it is vital that everyone is tested prior to departure. Depending on the country you are visiting, entry requirements can vary, so it is important you check the latest information before travelling.
Similarly when you return to the UK you will need to have a day 2 test, again this is because of travelling in close proximity to other passangers, and people you may have come into contact with throughout your journey.

Rapid tests give a quick result using a device similar to a pregnancy test.

This involves rubbing a long cotton bud (swab) over your tonsils (or where they would have been) and inside your nose, or inside your nose only.

Research shows rapid tests are 99.9% accurate. This means the chance of getting a false-positive result (where the result shows as positive but is actually negative) is extremely low.

If you test positive, you must self-isolate.

The Service takes approximately 15 - 20 minutes. After the nasal self-swab, we leave the sample for 10 minutes in order to get a result. During this time, we can enter your details to create a certifcate. If the result comes back as negative, we will print a copy in addition to the email you will receive.

Anyone entering the UK is required to take a Covid test. Depending on where you are coming from, will determine the test you need. Please visit the governement website to check if the day 2 rapid antigen test would be suitable for you.

There are two way in which you can book your lateral flow test, either prior to leaving the UK, or 48 hours before you return to the UK. Upon registration, you will be provided with a COVID-19 test booking reference number.

You will need to complete a passanger locator form in the 48 hours prior to travelling to the UK, including your COVID-19 test booking reference number.

When you arrive, you must take your test in the pharmacy on or before day 2. When you arrive is day 0.

If you booked a lateral flow test and the result is positive, you must take a PCR test to confirm the result. You must self-isolate until you get the result of the PCR test.

If the PCR test result is positive, you must self-isolate for 10 full days. The day you took the lateral flow test is day 0. Members of your household may also be asked to self-isolate.
